No Rest for the Weary

I don’t know about you, but I find being awake at four in the morning never means anything good. Even in college, when four o’clock was bedtime for some of my friends, I was usually tucked in by midnight, at the latest.

After my daughters were born, my bedtime moved up even earlier, especially since they’ve never been “good” sleepers, and I was trying to snag all the Z’s I could. I usually have a pretty tight nighttime routine of taking my evening medicine, brushing my teeth, taking my sleep aids, and then lying down to read on my phone with the night mode on. If nothing goes wrong (i.e., one of my daughters getting sick, my mom needing help, or my husband bringing up big financial decisions as I’m dozing off), I can generally fall asleep within a couple of hours. The amount of time it takes me to fall asleep is extra annoying since my husband is one of those people who can fall asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow.

The Right Relief boxLately, though, I’ve been wide awake too many times while the rest of the house snoozes. And, let’s be honest, it stinks. As much as I crave alone time during this “social isolation” (that sometimes feels more like “everybody’s home and needing something from me all the time”), I’d rather not get my me-time in the middle of the night. That’s why I leapt at the chance to try Right Wellness Co‘s natural sleep aid, The Right Relief, when even my nightly dose of 10 mg of melatonin wasn’t working.

Perusing the pamphlet that came with the The Right Relief drops, I found that it was an all-natural product with recommended dosage of 10 to 20 mg. I tried the drops by themselves and in combination with my other sleep aids, depending on how much trouble I anticipated having going to sleep. Some nights, 10 mg was enough to get me over the sleep hump, and other nights I added it to my melatonin or other sleep medication if I was feeling wound up or I was having a lot of pain from fibromyalgia.

The Right Relief

As recommended by the Right Wellness Co. instructions, I tried using the drops in different dosages and at different times of night. What seemed to work best for me was to take the highest dose right after dinner in order to enjoy the calm feeling that came over me about half an hour after taking the drops.

I’ve been taking the drops every night for about two weeks, and I’ve noticed several positive changes. First, I feel much calmer in the evening. The cacophony of kids that usually stomps on my last nerve seems more bearable, meaning more quality time with my family. With The Right Relief, my bedtime routine most often ends in actual sleep in less than an hour, which is kind of a miracle after several days during previous weeks that ended in flopping around trying to get comfortable at all hours of the night. The Right Relief makes me feel more rested in the morning without the hungover feeling that can come from some other sleep aids. Plus, getting a good night’s sleep means I have more energy, less pain, and more patience for playing with my four-year-old, caring for my mom, and supporting my eleven-year-old in online school.

I’ve also noticed that with The Right Relief, I have had a much easier time falling back asleep when I’m awakened by bad dreams (either the kids’ or my own), my husband coming to bed late, or any of the myriad other reasons that I’ve thought eight hours of uninterrupted sleep was unobtainable.

A New Tool

The Right ReliefOverall, The Right Relief is a great addition to my toolbox to help promote and protect my sleep. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, it feels terrible to make it to bedtime after a day crammed full of responsibilities, only to spend the night tossing and turning or staring at the ceiling and running through your to-do list. I think most parents could use some extra help falling asleep during this time of anxiety and uncertainty. The relaxation and sense of calm that The Right Relief brings makes it right for me. If you’d like to try an all-natural way to smooth out your own path to good sleep, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Bonus: It’s a local to Portland company, so you can feel good about shopping local while getting your well-deserved rest.
