It’s true, my birthday is my favorite holiday of the year! My mom was born in December and, for most of her childhood, her birthday got lumped with celebrating Christmas. As a result, my mom always made it a point to make my brother and my birthdays special. On our actual birthday, we always got to pick what my mom would make for dinner. My choice every year was my favorite, roast beef and cauliflower.
As an adult now, I think turning 29 every year is pretty awesome! My birthday is during the beginning of April, and I tend to stretch out my celebration to have a fun and fabulous birthday month. Sadly, my days of birthday parties and my mom cooking me dinner are long over, but I have found quite a few cheap and free things that I can get to celebrate my special day and month!
Many retailers and restaurants will give you discounts or free product during your birthday month. Typically these offers are available by signing up through a birthday club (or store membership) and receiving a coupon, or by showing up at the place to get a freebie on your birthday. A few of my favorite things include shopping, coffee, and ice cream, and below is a list of a few of my favorite places that give out coupons or freebies for your birthday.

- Ann Taylor Loft – $15 off any purchase. You must sign-up for their mailing list and they will send you a coupon to use within your birthday month.
- Ben and Jerry’s – Free scoop of ice cream. You must sign-up for their mailing list and they will send you a coupon to use within two weeks following your birthday.
- Dutch Brothers Coffee – Free drink on your birthday. Just let them know and show them your ID.
- Panera – Free pastry of your choice. You must register for a Panera rewards card to get this offer.
- Pip’s Original Donuts – A dozen free donuts during your birthday week. Just come in and show your ID to redeem.
- Red Robin – Free burger, valid for the entire month of your birthday. You must be a member of their Red Royalty Club program, and It’s free to sign-up.
- Sephora – Free birthday gift, typically a trial size beauty product. You must sign-up for the free Beauty Insider rewards program.
- Starbucks – Free drink on your birthday. You must register your Starbucks Rewards Card to get the free drink.
- Victoria Secret – $10 off any purchase. You must sign-up for their Angels reward program and they will send you a coupon to use within your birthday month.
