Our group format is small and weekly topics are offered to educate and empower the mother as they acclimate to life with a newborn. Topics include rest, physical recovery and positioning, mental and emotional health, adjusting daily routines, self-care strategies and much more.

Sometimes, the transition into motherhood can feel overwhelming to sort through alone. Our individualized programs assist women in honing in on the area(s) that are challenging and determine useful, practical solutions together.

Northwest Mothers Milk Bank

Northwest Mother's Milk Bank Logo

Northwest Mothers Milk Bank (NWMMB) believes all babies deserve the best possible start in life!

Human milk is an essential first food for all infants, providing vital nutrients and immunological protection necessary for optimal growth and improved long-term health. One in eight infants in the Pacific NW is born premature and these vulnerable babies rely on donor milk when their mother’s own milk is not 100% available. NWMMB provides safe pasteurized donor milk to babies in our region, improving their health outcomes and chance of survival. As the only nonprofit milk bank in the Pacific Northwest, we carry out our mission through the safe collection and distribution of human donor milk, education, advocacy and research.

Since opening in 2013 NWMMB has distributed over TWO MILLION ounces of pasteurized donor human milk to infants in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and beyond, both in the hospital and after discharging home. We depend on the support of the community to grow and expand our services every year. You can make a difference by donating milk, time, or money.
