Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts

June 21 @ 8:00 am - June 23 @ 5:00 pm

Free

See what dreams live in the imagination of local students, grades K-8 in this youth-centric featured exhibit titled, “The Imagination Menagerie.” Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts hosts six exhibits as this is merely one room filled with whimsy and wonder that will take on many shapes and sizes this June 21-23, 2024 at Lakewood Center and George Rogers Park.

Lakewood Center for the Arts’s Youth Outreach coordinator, Angie Stambuk, spent a year collecting drawings of imaginary animals through their Youth Outreach projects. Once the drawings were collected, professional artists across the country began applying and “adopting” a child’s drawing to recreate in their own medium. From crayons, colored pencils to paints, students and professional artists will be exploring creatures who are fuzzy, fierce, winged or horned. The exhibit proudly showcases the works of both emerging talents and established artists known for pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.

Building upon the mission of art education, The Lake Oswego festival created a Youth Outreach Program to educate budding artists beyond the walls of Lakewood Center. Sharing an opportunity and knowledge in topics such as, printmaking and sculpture, along with bringing more representation and inclusivity to the festival youth exhibit.
