Founded in 1988, Oregon Children’s Theatre has served well over two million children, teachers, and families. Its mission is to create exceptional theater experiences that transform lives. OCT is Oregon’s largest non-profit professional children’s theater company and a resident company of Portland’5 Centers for the Arts. Performances are held weekdays for school audiences and on weekends for family audiences. OCT serves more than 120,000 children of all ages each year. OCT offers numerous school services including study guides, teacher professional development opportunities, in-school workshops, and an extensive outreach program. In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, the Educational Theatre Program provides free touring productions that promote healthy living. OCT’s year round Acting Academy offers theater classes for children ages 3-18 and Young Professionals Company, a mentoring program for teens.
It started with a dream ( and a lot of hard work) and it has turned into the little company that could! joy & wonder theatre creates both productions and classes that awaken the senses, imagination and playful natures of students and explorers with our brand of immersive theatre. In immersive theatre a world is brought to life before your very eyes that you are invited to play inside. All the voices in the room are listened to and because of that storylines may be changed and shaped by the people in that particular audience on that particular day. We ask that everybody enter a space of play in order to discover how to use our skills of empathy, deep thought and total joy to create a unique theatrical experience in both classrooms and production venues. Come join us as either a student, an audience member ( explorer) or both! Located in and around North Portland we look forward to interacting and creating with you!

We help students develop the skills and knowledge they need for a bright future. Best in Class students benefit from individual attention, active instruction in small groups, and engaging course material aligned with common standards.
Our programs move K-12 students of all abilities towards the top of their class, but our mission doesn’t end there.
At Best in Class, our mission is twofold: build better teachers; build successful students. Education is the door to the future. We want to leave a legacy and a lasting positive impact on our students and teachers alike. We know how important great teachers are and we want to support their individual growth, so that they can continue to change the lives of their students.
We are a theater company dedicated to bringing the joy of the theater to neurodiverse populations. We believe that everyone has a fundamental right to communicate and experience the world in a positive and meaningful way. Our camps and classes focus on teaching social skills, team work, and problem solving through the art of theater. Children gain valuable social skills and peer interactions through participating in our small group classes. Speak and Be Heard Theater is run by a certified Speech and Language Pathologist who has more than 14 years of experience working with neurodiverse populations including children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities, and more.
