Every Sunday Max Tucker will be teaching drum lessons at Hum Strum Drum!
Max Tucker is a drummer and percussionist who moved to Portland from Brooklyn, NY in 2018 — where he had been based since 2000. After receiving a BFA in Jazz Performance from New School University Max went on to play with many bands; most notably (electro-pop act) Francis and the Lights, (Afrobeat collective) Asiko and (psych-rock band) Dinowalrus. Tucker has played drums on 15 albums and toured/opened for artists such as Bonnie Raitt, David Byrne, MGMT and The Charlatans. Early on in his drumming career Max discovered his love for teaching when working as a music counselor one summer at Camp Killooleet in Vermont. His goal in teaching is to give each student the tools and inspiration to discover what kind of drummer they want to be.

How Two Kids From Oregon Started the Largest IRL Scavenger Hunton the West Coast
Several Clues Remain Unsolved, and the Secret Treasure has NOT Been Found
Portland, OR, December 30, 2019. The West Coast Scavenger Hunt is a massive IRL hunt that began in Seattle, Portland, Eugene, Berkeley, and San Francisco.
Magnetic buttons for the hunt started popping up on sign poles in five West Coast cities in November.
The buttons contain a searchable number/letter string that leads to this enigmatic webpage.
Joiners receive emailed instructions for how to view Clues, and a link to another page describing a Grand Prize, The Official Semi-Golden Ticket of Indeterminate Value.
How the Hunt Works:
Six Clues are being given for each city, that point toward that city’s Basic Cache. The Clues have gotten progressively harder over time, and as of this writing, only the Portland Basic Cache has been discovered. However, Portlanders still have something to hunt for!
NOTE: The Official Semi-Golden Ticket of Indeterminate Value has NOT been found. It can be found only after the contents of all five Basic Caches have been discovered and revealed.
ALSO NOTE: All six Clues have been given for Seattle, but the Seattle Basic Cache has not been found. Who will solve the Seattle 6?
All current Clues plus the contents of the Portland Basic Cache can be viewed here.
The West Coast Scavenger Hunt is a great way to unboring your winter. People who are into puzzles, ciphers, codes, road trips, swordplay, jiujitsu, and hidden treasure will get a kick out of it.
