2021 Guide to Portland Summer Camps

This year, perhaps more than ever, kids need active and engaging activities during the summertime. Here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, we luckily have tons of amazing options for kids of all ages.

We’re delighted to share our 2021 Guide to Portland Summer Camps! We’ve partnered with the best Portland-area camps to help you plan your best summer yet.

We know camps may look a littler different this year. To address the current climate, we have offered a COVID safety/precautions section in this year’s guide to help you know what to expect at each camp. Additionally, information may change alongside county health measures, and many camps we spoke to are still finalizing dates, sessions, and specifics. We will be updating this guide on an ongoing basis with new camps and their info — keep checking back to see what unfolds!

Our in-person 2021 Summer Season is packed full of weeklong camps & workshops and some fun partial-day intensives for students ages 7 and up. We have something fun for kids and adults alike from our location in Beaverton. Our musical theater kids camps for ages 7-11 feature Magic Tree House: Knight at Dawn KIDS and A Year with Frog and Toad Kids. Students will learn the fundamentals of musical theater (acting, dancing, and singing) while also getting an opportunity to perform the musical on our very own stage at the end of the week.

Unique to Lovegood Performing Arts Company is our technical theater program that was built for students that don’t want to be in the spotlight, but would enjoy working behind the scenes to make a show happen! This summer we will have multiple technical theater workshops that will align with the kids camps and will work with directors to build sets, props, costumes, and run the sound & lighting for the shows.

Lovegood Performing Arts Company was launched about a year go with online classes and performances in 2020. In 2021 we began in-person classes at our very own education space and black box studio in Beaverton. We look forward to your family joining Lovegood this summer!

Lovegood has taken all the recommended COVID precautions this winter and early spring with masked indoor in-person classes for 50+ students and no known COVID cases with students or instructors. Our education and stage space is over 7,000 square feet with constant air circulation and significantly reduced capacity. We have required, and will continue to require masks for students and instructors during our summer camps and workshops. If there is a change in guidance from Oregon Health Authority regarding mask usage or allowed capacity we will adjust and notify parents of any changes with the ability to cancel for a full refund if a parent is not comfortable with sending their students to Lovegood at the time the camp or workshop starts.

BaxterSports

Baxter Sports

BaxterSports Camps — the most fun way to become a better athlete.
Since 2013, BaxterSports has been Portland’s top destination for getting kids active.

We believe sports are about more than just skills, scoring goals, and winning games (although all of that is really fun!). They also give you a chance to learn who you are, how to successfully relate to people — whether that means teammates, opponents, coaches or referees — and to learn more about life.

With the help of excellent coaches, we offer fun, safe, and nurturing yet challenging camps aimed to inspire kids both mentally and physically. All Sports Camps, Soccer Camps, and All Girl Camps Available.

Your child’s physical and mental well being is our top priority. We value your trust, and we understand how difficult it is for parents to navigate what’s the best thing for our kids right now. We held many successful camps during 2020 by following OHSA health and safety protocols, and we will continue to stay up-to-date with their latest guidelines in 2021.
