Now more than ever, it’s important to support our local business community by spending our dollars close to home. For the 2020 edition of our #shopPDX Holiday Gift Guide, we have only included PDX-area businesses that have been impacted by COVID in some way — be it mandatory closures of brick-and-mortars, cancellation of vendor events, or the sudden need to take whole inventories online. Business owners have been asked to pivot in multiple ways this year to stay afloat; let’s support them by putting in our effort to #shopPDX!

The Nature Atelier offers artful ways to connect with your family, explore the natural world, and nurture your heart. We offer eco-friendly art kits inspired by nature and create handmade art supplies for children and the young at heart.

Our art kits are released every other month and provides a mix of process art and nature crafts so that children can explore and create in different ways. Project instructions offer activity extension ideas along with prompt examples to give parents the tools to facilitate and co-create with ease. Our next art Winter Sparkle will begin preorder November 27th with delivery before the holidays.

We also create handmade art supplies like sensory dough, beeswax eco-crayons, wooden stampers, and flower presses which can be purchased separately. 

The Nature Atelier is dedicated to making products that are low-waste and earth-friendly. We use recycled, recyclable and reusable plastic-free packaging for our products. Handmade products are created using all natural, earth-friendly ingredients.

The Nature Atelier is a women-owned business founded by Angela Ruggles. Angela is a museum educator / ethno-botanist/ yoga teacher/ maker and mama to twin toddlers with a passion for nature and art.

Made You Look is a kid’s shop filled with well-designed toys and more for kids of all ages – and at every price point. Our designs were born from quarantine angst after our owner, Carey, and her 8 year old daughter were diagnosed with COVID-19 (both are OK now!).
