Mom’s Weekend Out Deep in the Heart of Texas {Omni Hotel Review + Giveaway}

1

Just when I was about to lose my ever loving mind last fall in the sea of a corporate job, kids, owning a business, church, kids, husband, work, family, and more, I had the amazing opportunity to get away all. by. myself. and spend three nights in beautiful Dallas. While I traveled alone (no changing baby diapers in airport restrooms…win!), I was actually there to met up with over 50 amazing moms and business owners at the annual City Moms Blog Network Sister Site Conference. It was a truly memorable conference in an amazing city, and I’m excited to see another mom win an equally fabulous getaway to the south…so here’s your chance!

CMBN Conference 2015Here’s a little secret…although I’m generally an easy to please person, I am basically a hotel snob. It happens when you’ve worked in the travel industry for 15 years and had the opportunity to stay in (and hold events in) some REALLY great places. This hotel was truly beautiful and actually above par compared to many of the the other nice places I’ve stayed throughout the USA and beyond. Built in 2011, it looks and feels brand new and has every amenity you could think of (including the TV in the bathroom mirror).

Omni DallasThe Omni Dallas staff definitely took care of us mamas. True, just having someone clear my plate from the table (where I ate a hot meal while it was still hot) is more pampering then I get for about 360 days out of the year, but they actually did go above and beyond to make me and others feel welcome and satisfied from the outdoor patio reception to our indoor meetings and breakout sessions to the room service and other staff. I wish I had stayed a little longer to try out the inviting pool and spa…now that’s really my kind of vacation!

Based on my experience, I would say that the Omni Dallas is great for families OR a getaway for just you and your partner, or your girlfriends, or all by yourself! It has a great downtown location within walking distance or a very short ride to plenty of attractions. Just a look out my hotel room window at the city skyline had me feeling relaxed and exited for the weekend.

Jen
Jen is a Type A introvert who is continually learning {in large part as a result of motherhood} that she can’t control it all and that everything is better with chocolate. After spending most of her life in Minnesota, she made Portland home a couple of years ago along with her New York native husband, Phil, and their lovely littles, Connor (November 2010) and Brielle (April 2013). Jen quickly fell in love with Oregon and, along with her family, is determined to explore all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. At their current stage of family life, she and her hubby give every adventure a 50/50 shot of succeeding without a child {or parent} meltdown.
